"College GameDay" is heading to uncharted waters as Week 6 will get started in Berkeley, California home of the California Golden Bears for the first time.

They're hosting the No. 8-ranked Miami Hurricanes who are coming off a near-last-second loss at home to the unranked Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hurricanes head to Cal as double-digit favorites. Between the tight contest that took place in Miami in Week 5 and Cal's history against Cam Ward from his days as the quarterback of the Washington State Cougars, "College GameDay's" Rece Davis believes the Hurricanes will once again be in for a major scare.

"Miami could go in and run into a buzzsaw," Davis said on Thursday's episode of " The College GameDay Podcast ."

"Cam Ward has played this Justin Wilcox-style a couple times, and he's had some turnovers," Davis said. "All of these emotions around this makes you want to pick Cal. The history that the Bears have giving up yardage but forcing turnovers by Cam Ward--different system, different circumstances--but they've seen him from when he was at Washington State, makes you lean Cal, which makes it a little too easy. I'm going to with Miami, but Miami with a major scare."

Davis says the Hurricanes' long flight from Florida to California could add a new challenge. It's one of the longest flights between two conference opponents so far this season according to Davis, a new wrinkle brought on by the realigned ACC.
