Nika Muhl Appears to Suffer Gruesome Injury During Overseas Game

Nika Muhl didn't play much as a rookie for the Seattle Storm, but it's clear that the UConn Huskies alum has the potential to become a staunch two-way guard in the WNBA.

While the Storm crashed out of the postseason after getting swept by the Las Vegas Aces, Muhl hasn't strayed too far away from the game of basketball, as she has been playing overseas for Besiktas Women's Basketball Team in the Turkish league.

Muhl has played quite a bit of basketball over the past year, but after she didn't receive a lot of action as a rookie for the Storm, this was viewed as a great shot for her to get some live reps on the court. However, in Besiktas' match on Thursday, Muhl was forced out of the contest early with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

Muhl's leg appears to give out in the clip, and she remained on the ground for a couple of minutes before she was placed on a board and taken back to the locker room.

There hasn't been any official word on the extent of Muhl's injury, and while you never want to speculate on these sorts of matters, it looks as if she may have suffered a serious injury.

Fans are unsurprisingly worried that is the case, and you can bet everyone will be checking in on Muhl's status to see what her official injury update ends up being.
