Julius Randle was an honorary New Yorker. Despite hailing from Dallas, Texas, the All-Star embraced the Empire State. Following the finalization of the trade for Karl-Anthony Towns, New York Knicks president Leon Rose thanked Randle for his contributions to the city and the franchise.

"I want to sincerely thank Julius for his contributions to the Knicks organization and our community," Rose said in the franchise's media release. "An All-Star and All-NBA player, Julius worked tirelessly day in and day out to represent the Knicks organization with grit, grace and tremendous skill.

Randle experienced the most success in his NBA career as a member of the Knicks. In addition to participating in two playoff runs and aiding the Knicks in the 2023-24 regular season, which led to another playoff berth, he also earned multiple accolades thanks to his 330 games played.

During his time with the Knicks, he won the Most Improved Player of the Year award, earned two All-NBA selections, and three All-Star nods.

"Julius played a major role in establishing the foundation and culture of our team, and we cannot thank him enough for what he did for this city and organization both on and off the court," Rose finished.

Days before the trade, Randle made his most significant contribution in New York, helping raise $1.3 million to staff the Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School in the Bronx.

Randle helped build New York, transcending to the streets and, more importantly, the children. Given his humanitarian and basketball efforts, it's safe to say he's a Knick for life.
