The Boston College Eagles (4-1) will travel to Charlottesville to take on the Virginia Cavaliers (3-1) for a major ACC matchup on Saturday.

The Eagles emerged victorious the last time the two met in 2023. After trailing, 21-7, at the half, Boston College outscored Virginia, 20-3, in the final two quarters to walk away with a, 27-24, home win. The last time the Eagles visited Charlottesville resulted in a, 43-32, win by the Cavaliers in 2020.

It's surprising to see both of these teams with just one loss through five weeks of action. Virginia is coming off two straight losing seasons under third-year head coach Tony Elliot. The Eagles, who finished 7-6 a year ago, are in an inaugural season under head coach Bill O'Brien. Boston College was picked to finish 14th in the ACC preseason media poll . The Cavaliers came in at No. 16.

According to ESPN's Pete Thamel on Thursday, star quarterback Thomas Castellanos will return to the lineup after missing last week's win against Western Kentucky with an undisclosed injury. Castellanos has been extremely efficient this season, ranking sixth in the country in passing efficiency. The 5-foot-9, 196-pound junior has thrown for 729 yards with 10 touchdowns to two interceptions in four games.

This will be the toughest test for Virginia thus far with wins over Richmond, Wake Forest and Coastal Carolina. The Cavaliers lone loss came against Maryland in Week 3. On the other hand, the Eagles took down Florida State, then No. 10, in the season opener to jump to No. 24 in the AP Poll. After a win over Duquesne, Boston College suffered a six-point loss to then No. 6 Missouri before beating Michigan State and Western Kentucky.

Kickoff from Scott Stadium is slated for Saturday at noon ET (ACC Network). The Cavaliers are considered as 1-point favorites, per ESPN Bet.
