The WNBA announced Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark as the winner of this year's Rookie of the Year award on Oct. 3. After the AP unanimously announced Clark as Rookie of the Year last month, it seemed like a forgone conclusion that league voters would draw the same conclusion.

However, Clark did not win the WNBA's Rookie of the Year award unanimously, as Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese received one vote. No other rookie received a vote.

While Reese had a fantastic season, breaking the rookie record with most consecutive games with a double-double (26), she missed the final six games of year due to a wrist injury, and the Sky failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2018. Numerous fans demanded to know which voter thought Reese deserved the award over Clark, who broke the rookie record for most points, assists, and threes.

Amid the heated debate on social media, Reese's podcast focused on the positive, and celebrated another momentous occasion.

"Unapologetically Angel," produced in partnership with NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, revealed they netted over 50,000 subscribers. The show also announced there would be a "special surprise" once that number hits 100,000.

Considering the podcast just premiered earlier this month, already hitting 50,000 subs is an impressive feat. One fan r eplied , "Congratulations Barbie!" Another person posted , "best podcast on the net right now." New episodes of Reese's podcast drops on Thursdays. Guests on show include Dwyane Wade, Sheryl Swoopes, Polo G, and more.
