Game 3 between the New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers turned out to be an electric game. The Brewers led the contest 2-0 late in the contest after scoring two runs in the seventh inning.

However, that lead didn't last long after veteran first baseman Pete Alonso went yard in the top of the ninth. His home run blast gave the Mets a quick 3-2 lead late in the contest. New York eventually scored another run and won the game 4-2 over the Brewers.

But what may have been more exciting than Alonso's home run was the radio call. Longtime announcer Howie Rose went viral on Thursday night as he delivered the call of the year.

The post on X, formerly known as Twitter, has received over 600,000 views, 8,000 likes, and 2,000 re-posts since it was shared just before 9:50 P.M. Eastern. Listen to Rose's call below.

The 29-year-old first baseman only had one hit out of four attempts but he made that one hit count. His home run gifted the Mets three much-needed RBIs for a big win to help New York advance in the playoffs after taking the series 2-1.

As for Rose, the famed announcer has been the main play caller for the franchise since 1995. The 70-year-old announcer originally worked on television broadcasts until 2003 when former radio play-caller Bob Murphy called it a career.

New York officially advances to the second round of the playoffs after dismantling the Brewers in the Wild Card round. The Mets are now set to take on the No. 2 ranked Philadelphia Phillies in the NL bracket.

Philadelphia ended the regular season as the top team in the NL East with a 95-67 record. They've been red hot throughout most of the season, so the Mets will have to continue playing at a high-level if they hope to pull off the upset.
