Suni Lee Breaks Silence on Hurtful Comments Made By Former USA Gymnast

USA Gymnast Suni Lee has finally addressed the controversial remarks made by her former Tokyo Olympics teammate MyKayla Skinner.

Prior to the 2024 Olympics, Skinner found herself in hot water after she appeared to criticize the current generation of USA gymnasts. Not only did the Tokyo silver medalist question their work ethic, but she also expressed doubts about their talents.

While Skinner has since deleted the video where she made the comments and apologized, adding that her remarks were misinterpreted, the damage has been done and she has already hurt the 2024 Olympics team.

Simone Biles had seemingly addressed the criticisms from Skinner after she made the comments and during the 2024 Olympics following their gold medal win in the team all-around competition.

Now, it's Lee who has spoken out on the issue, admitting that it was "frustrating" and "annoying" to hear Skinner's criticisms.

"We have a lot of love for her, but it’s frustrating to see her put us down because she knows, basically, about every single thing that we’ve all been through,” Lee told Glamour in an exclusive interview . "It was more annoying because of all the things that I’ve been through."

Suni Lee and USA Gymnastics certainly proved MyKayla Skinner wrong after they dominated the 2024 Olympics. Aside from winning the team all-around competition, Lee also bagged two bronze medals in the individual all-around and uneven bars.

Simone Biles, meanwhile, secured three gold medals (team all-around, individual all-around and vault) and one silver (floor exercise). The USA women's gymnastics teams won seven medals in total.

Skinner, for her part, has yet to respond to Lee's latest take.
