    Jonathan Kuminga is 'That Guy'?

The Golden State Warriors didn't acquire a player who will raise the ceiling regarding playoff competition. However, Mike Dunleavy Jr. provided a solid floor thanks to the free agents he helped sign. In a contract season, seeking a max extension, Jonathan Kuminga can earn a significant raise and aid the Warriors in their pursuit of playoff success.

Kuminga commented on whether he can become Stephen Curry's sidekick.

“I learned a lesson that I could come to this year and be that guy and not force anything… I see myself doing it," Kuminga said to 95.7 The Game . "I see myself helping and taking that load off Steph, but we got a lot of great players.”

Last season, Kuminga finished as the Warriors' third-highest scorer in terms of points per game. However, Andrew Wiggins and Kuminga essentially had the same number of field goal attempts per game, as the former averaged 11 to the latter's 11.7.

With Klay Thompson out of the picture and Wiggins again out of his prime, Kuminga must seize the moment by using his youth, experience, and training camp work for the 2024-25 season. However, his perimeter game matters, as Kuminga converted only 32 percent of his 3-point shots.

The Warriors' forward averaged the lowest percentage from distance of the core members of Steve Kerr's rotation.

Kuminga must take the necessary steps for the Warriors to succeed, especially if he wants the franchise to entrust him with the max-level contract. It seems like Kuminga matured from last season, but words only matter when the action coincides.
