The top game from Week 5 was the premier matchup between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs. The two had mainly met in the SEC Championship, and the last regular-season meeting was in 2020.

Alabama jumped out to an early 30-7 lead going into halftime. However, Georgia answered in the second half and eventually made it 34-33 with under three minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Then, Alabama broke the hearts of Georgia fans everywhere and took the lead back with a 75-yard Ryan Williams touchdown. The Bulldogs drove into the red zone the following drive, but quarterback Carson Beck threw a game-ending interception.

On "SEC Nation," Paul Finebaum talked about the recent calls he received regarding the game on "The Paul Finebaum Show." Alabama fans let Georgia fans have it, saying the Crimson Tide have been the Bulldogs' "daddy."

Finebaum said it felt like a step in the right direction for Alabama under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer. However, he did not hold back with Georgia, saying that the program was in "flux."

"Ultimately, Alabama moved forward, and Georgia is still a little bit in flux," Finebaum said. "You have to feel great, but that daddy line, that was the theme of the week. Every single Alabama fan just rubbed it in the dog's nose, 'We've been your daddy through Saban and now DeBoer.' It was like a cloud."

After winning consecutive national titles in 2021 and 2022, Georgia could not reach those heights last season. The Bulldogs finished the regular season undefeated but lost to Alabama in the SEC title game, missing the College Football Playoff.

Georgia can get right against the Auburn Tigers in Week 6. Kickoff on Saturday is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
