Jeff Burton Wanted to Quiet Parker Kligerman After Hearing Details on His Personal Life

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Parker Kligerman waited on pit road to make his qualifying run around Talladega when NBC pit reporter Kim Coon caught up with him for an interview. They talked about the upcoming race and his playoff position, before she surprisingly asked about the footwork required at the superspeedway.

"My girlfriend made me go do a pedicure with her," Kligerman revealed. "This is what she wanted to go do when she got back. So, my feet are perfectly prepared for this Talladega undertaking. They won't be affected by the heat at all."

"Unfortunately, he's got closed-toed shoes, so we can't see those feet of Parker Kligerman," Coon noted as the cameras pulled away to show the driver's full frame, including his feet.

Jeff Burton then joined in the conversation from the broadcast booth.

"I knew Parker was talking too much, but that last statement confirmed it," Burton said. "He needed to stop way sooner."

While Burton might have felt uncomfortable talking about Kilgerman's feet and his pedicure, it's hard to argue with the driver's results from qualifying. After making the top 10 in the first round, the 34-year-old, who announced in September that 2024 would be his last season racing, backed it up with a strong final run and qualified sixth.

During the race, Kligerman's footwork and driving around the 2.66-mile Alabama track translated into a solid 12th-place finish.

However, despite that result, the No. 48 pilot heads into Saturday's Xfinity Series postseason cutoff race at the Charlotte Roval in last place of the remaining 12 playoff teams competing for the championship.

The race starts at 4 p.m. ET and airs on The CW.
