Big Shakeup in Top 25 Sets Up #2 Versus #3 Clash This Saturday

AP voters released their new poll just moments ago, and it sets up a match of #2 versus #3 Saturday night in Autzen Stadium, Ohio State at Oregon. After a weekend of chaos in the Top 25, the ballot is dotted with big risers and precipitous falls.

Idle Texas remains #1 at 5-0. They face #18 Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry this weekend. Georgia climbed to #5 after their 31-13 win at Auburn, capitalizing on losses by Alabama and Tennessee. The Bulldogs host 1-4 Mississippi State in Athens next.

Georgia travels to Texas on October 19th.

Penn State rose to #4 after dispatching UCLA 27-11. They'll make the long trip to the L.A. Coliseum to meet 3-2, unranked USC, which fell out of the Top 25 after a last-second road loss to Minnesota over college football's tumultuous weekend.

The second five now includes Miami at six, followed by one-loss traditional powers Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Clemson. Iowa State at 11 claims the top spot from the Big 12, while Boise State at 17 is the nation's highest-ranked Group of Five team.
