Ja'Marr Chase had a right to be frustrated after the Cincinnati Bengals' 41-38 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The star wide receiver had a masterful performance, catching 10 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns.

The former LSU standout's effort ended with the Bengals dropping to a 1-4 record on the season.

The Bengals had three double-digit leads in the second half, but a furious 17-point fourth quarter by the Ravens' offense sent the game into overtime.

The Ravens had the ball to start the extra period. The Bengals defense recovered a fumble by Lamar Jackson to give Joe Burrow and company the ball at the Baltimore 38-yard line.

The Bengals ran the ball with Chase Brown three straight times on their only overtime possession, gaining a total of three yards. Kicker Evan McPherson missed a 53-yard field goal attempt.

The Ravens then kicked a field goal on their next possession to win the game.

Following the game, Joe Danneman with Fox 19 asked Chase what he thought of the coaching staff's decision to go conservative on the overtime drive and if the All-Pro player wanted an opportunity to get the ball in his hands after an impressive first four quarters.

"Yeah, of course, I always want the ball, you know what I'm saying," Chase asked. "I feel like we should have tried at least one play to give it to one of our playmakers, me, Tee (Higgins) or (Andrei Iosivas) to try to get a first down because that's what we've been doing the whole game."

During his postgame press conference, Burrow said he didn't want to second-guess the strategy of taking a conservative approach with the ball in field goal range. He said the Bengals could have easily lost field position by taking a sack, and the team ultimately had a chance to win the game on the 53-yard field goal attempt.

Unfortunately for the Bengals, a poor hold by punter Ryan Rehkow led to a missed kick by McPherson. The Bengals cut their 2023 fifth-round pick, punter Brad Robbins, on Tuesday to keep Rehkow on the roster.

The Bengals will travel to play the New York Giants in Week 6.
