Cowboys Player Turns Heads With Disrespectful George Pickens Take

The much-maligned Dallas Cowboys defense has now held an opponent to 17 points or fewer in each of their last two games, including Sunday night's 20-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers away from home.

Part of the Cowboys' success on that end of the field versus Pittsburgh was the Steelers' apparent containment of wide receiver George Pickens, who mustered just 26 receiving yards on three catches and seven targets.

After going off for 113 receiving yards in Week 4 against the Indiana Colts, Pickens was barely felt on the field in the Cowboys game. As if to further remind Pickens of how bad the night was for him, Cowboys defensive back Jourdan Lewis took a shot at the former Georgia Bulldogs star after the game.

"Pittsburgh needs a receiver," Lewis said while walking toward the locker room (h/t Bobby Belt of 105.3 The FAN). "George Pickens weak."

Folks on the internet also gave their thoughts on Lewis and his statement.

“Dominated them all night. He locked them up”

    “They need a QB first”

“Who does this dude think he is”

“Could be true if Steelers trade for Devante Adams...”

“More accurate statement would be that they need an offensive scheme where Pickens is actually getting snaps instead of being forced to watch Van Jefferson in single receiver sets.”

The Cowboys limited Pittsburgh to just three points in the first half. They finished the game allowing just 226 total yards to the Steelers.

Dallas did not record a defensive interception, but the Cowboys were consistent in keeping Pittsburgh’s offense from making things happen, as evidenced by the fact that the Steelers only went 3-of-12 on third downs.
