The Cincinnati Bengals have now lost four of their first five games of the season after letting a win slip away against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, October 6.

Quarterback Joe Burrow was exceptional in the contest, completing 30-of-39 passes for 392 yards 5 TDs and 1 INT in his team's 3-point overtime defeat.

Shortly afterwards, Burrow spoke harshly about the state of the Bengals during the postgame press conference.

"We’re not a championship-level team right now. We’re not," Burrow told reporters . "You know, I’d like to think that we’ll come back and improve throughout the season to get to that point, but right now we are not. And we have to get better."

Cincinnati has been competitive this season, despite its 1-4 record, with all four losses coming by between 1 point and 6 points.

Three of those four opponents -- the Kansas City Chiefs , Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens -- are a combined 11-3 through Week 5, with the Chiefs scheduled to play the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

However, the Bengals have struggled to close games down the stretch. Cincinnati now has consecutive road contests against the New York Giants (2-3) and Cleveland Browns (1-4) over the next two weeks.

Coach should have been fired immediately after they did not try to advance the ball in overtime to try a 50 plus yard FG.

Well Burrow has it right. At 1&4 it’s not good. Maybe next year but I doubt it.
