Calls Mount for Steelers Star to Be Suspended After Postgame Cheap Shot

It was not a banner night for Steelers receiver George Pickens. Not only did the Steelers lose, 20-17, on a last-minute touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Jalen Tolbert, but Pickens had his least productive game of the season, when he caught just three balls for 26 yards.

This came after showing up to the national Sunday night game with eyeblack that had written on it, "ALWAYS F------ OPEN.' Alas, coach Mike Tomlin limited Pickens, playing him just 34 of the team's 58 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus .

But it was a play at the end of the game that caught the attention of fans and summed up the volatility that sometimes lands Pickens in Tomlin's personal doghouse.

After the Cowboys sealed the win with a fumble recovery on an attempted lateral play after time expired, defensive back Jourdan Lewis (who made the recovery) had a few words for Pickens as he went to the locker room. Pickens grabbed Lewis by the facemask, causing Lewis to fall to the turf.

As Ben Slotnick wrote on Twitter/X, "George Pickens should be suspended a game for this. It’s absolutely unnecessary."

He's hardly alone in that opinion.

Lewis did get the last laugh on Pickens, though. As he walked to the Cowboys locker room after the game, cameras caught him saying , "Pittsburgh need a receiver. George Pickens weak."

Typical, can't let comments roll off his back. Uncalled for, poor sportsmanship. What a what a thin-skinned jerk.
