Steelers QB Justin Fields Confesses 'Reoccurring' Issue After Losing to Cowboys

The Pittsburgh Steelers were just a defensive stop away from getting their fourth win in five weeks. But Dak Prescott happened.

The star quarterback connected with wide receiver Jalen Tolbert for a touchdown with only 20 seconds left in regulation to lift the Dallas Cowboys to a 20-17 win on "Sunday Night Football."

The 31-year-old Prescott threw for 352 passing yards and two touchdowns to give the Cowboys back-to-back victories and improve to 3-2 despite missing injured stars Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.

The Steelers, on the other hand, suffered back-to-back losses and fell to 3-2. They still had a chance to steal the win but their final possession went haywire.

After the game, Steelers quarterback Justin Fields didn't hide his frustration. But he stressed that they have nothing to blame but themselves.

“I think the reoccurring thing is just shooting ourselves in the foot,” said the fourth-year signal-caller, via the Associated Press . "Penalties, false starts, it’s just coming down to execution.”

“We just missed shots and shot ourselves in the foot again."

The 25-year-old Fields passed for 131 yards and two touchdowns and completed 15 of his 27 throws.

Still, he has been filling ably for veteran Russell Wilson, who was originally named the team's starting quarterback before suffering a calf injury. But the former Super Bowl champion is nearing a return, which could relegate Fields to a backup in the coming days or weeks.

Both Fields and Wilson joined Pittsburgh in the offseason.

The Steelers will look to return to the win column against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
