Bears headed for London without Brisker, 2 others

The Chicago Bears head to London on Monday night to prepare for this weekend’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars but a few players won’t be making the trip with them.

The team announced that safety Jaquan Brisker, defensive tackle Zacch Pickens and cornerback Terell Smith are all staying behind as they deal with injuries.

While Pickens and Smith have each missed the past two Bears games due to groin and hip injuries, respectively, Brisker entered concussion protocol on Monday.

Brisker hasn’t missed any time this season and it’s unclear when he may have suffered the injury Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, if that’s when it occurred. Across the first five games, he’s tallied 40 tackles, three for loss, two pass breakups, one interception and a forced fumble.

If he’s unable to recover in time and make the trip to rejoin the team in London, the Bears may turn to Jonathan Owens or Elijah Hicks against the Jaguars.

Chicago (3-2) is coming off its best showing of the young season in a 36-10 thrashing of the Panthers and will look to move to 4-2 with a win over the struggling Jags (1-4) before heading into the bye week.

Kickoff is set for 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.

I agree with the prior statement that that injury was incurred during the hit on the Carolina TE who was subsequently knocked unconscious. If we see it on TV, the league in New York who are watching it also could have signalled the refs to review. I don't believe that happened.

hope it's not owens. His wife is a ten in gymnastics. but on defense he is a zero. Missed incredibly easy interception, and gave up at least one pass play against bryce young in brief play.
