Steelers Tight End Takes Shot at George Pickens Amid Latest Drama

After consecutive losses, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens' antics appear to be affecting the locker room.

The Steelers fell to the Dallas Cowboys 20-17 on Sunday night after a late touchdown pass from Dak Prescott. Pickens attempted to make a statement during the matchup with a message on his eye blacks that read "Open F****** Always."

Pickens wrapped up the game with three catches for 26 yards on a team-high seven targets, but post-game chatter centered more on his attitude than his performance.

Pickens drew attention for pulling down Cowboys defender Jourdan Lewis by his facemask and appeared to be coasting on some of his routes during the contest.

After the game, Pittsburgh tight end Pat Freiermuth appeared to take a shot at Pickens.

“I trust the coaching staff and what they’re doing," he said , per Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "Everyone can b***h and complain about a lack of targets, but it’s the stuff you do without the ball. That’s what leaders do. That’s what good teammates do. I block my a** off regardless."

Pickens may be paying for his behavior. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Pickens played fewer reps in an "effort to get more productivity."

"We're just trying to manage in terms of the totality of the big picture," Tomlin said. "He wasn't less of a focal point in terms of our intentions of what we wanted to do offensively, but we did want to cut his reps a little bit in an effort o get higher quality play, just in general."

The Steelers face the Las Vegas Raiders next week with a chance to end their skid.
