Jets' Sauce Gardner Defends Struggling Teammate Amid Backlash

The New York Jets have fallen to 2-3 after another disappointing offensive performance against the Minnesota Vikings in London.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers tied a career-high with three interceptions in the 23-17 loss. While the Jets did out-gain the Vikings in the loss, 254-to-253, those yards primary came from the passing game.

Starting running back Breece Hall finished the game with just 23 rushing yards on nine attempts. After the performance, Hall has received backlash from Jets fans and media who believe that he has not lived up to expectations that they had for him heading into the season.

One of New York's biggest stars, cornerback Sauce Gardner, took to social media to defend Hall after some called for him to be benched.

"Wow man... The negativity on here is at an all-time high," said Gardner. "We all have seen what Breece can do, so why we acting brand new? He's a top RB in this league and it's sad that I even have to say that. I'm always go have my brother back bc I know the work he puts in everyday. And the same ones that was giving him praise quick to turn their back on him when things ain't going right which is sad."

Through five games, Hall has 197 yards and two touchdowns. He's on-pace to finish the season with 670 rushing yards, which would be over 300 fewer yards than last season.
