'He's Weak!' Cowboys Shut Down - And Rip - Cheap-Shot Steelers

    By Mike Fisher,

FRISCO - Over the course of the Pittsburgh Steelers ' 20-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, "star'' receiver George Pickens did not very often get his hands on the football. He did, however, get his hands on the facemask of the guy who helped shut him down, Jourdan Lewis ...

Which surely led to Lewis' postgame taunt of the frustrated enemy wideout.

At one point in the game, it appeared the Steelers may have pulled their most explosive weapon to the bench; he was just that ineffective as he finished his game with seven targets but only three catches for 26 yards.

Per Pro Football Focus , the veteran slot-corner Lewis was covering Pickens for three of his targets in Week 5. ... and despite his size disadvantage - at 5-10, he gives up five inches to Pickens - he allowed just two catches for five yards.

That's a shut-down. And Pickens didn't enjoy it. Nor did he enjoy when at game's end, Lewis strolled by the humbled receiver and said ... something - at which point the receiver grabbed Lewis by the facemask and twisted him to the ground.

Once up the tunnel, Lewis offered up the final word.

“Pittsburgh needs a receiver,” Lewis said. “George Pickens (is) weak.”

That's not really a concern of 3-2 Dallas anymore. Now it's time for Lewis to ready for his hometown Detroit Lions, who are 3-1 and who come to AT&T Stadium hoping to avenge last year's controversial loss in this building. The Lions do not "need any receivers'' ... but the Cowboys sure could use another shut-down effort from Lewis.
