The criticism is piling up for the Alabama Crimson Tide following the team's upset loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores. ESPN's Stephen A. Smith is the latest to weigh in on Alabama, and the celebrity analyst did not hold back on Kalen DeBoer's squad.

Smith used a litany of adjectives to describe Alabama's performance against Vanderbilt including "pathetic," "disgusting" and "disgraceful."

Tell us how you really feel, Stephen A. The SEC upset marked Vandy's first win over a top-five team in program history.

"Paul Finebaum, I'm ashamed," Smith said of Alabama during an October 7,  2024, episode of "First Take." "You will not hear the words 'Roll Tide' in an affectionate manner from me for the rest of this season. It was an embarrassment. It was disgusting.

"Those players should have bags over their heads walking around campus all week long," Smith continued.

"... It is disgraceful. It is embarrassing, and you clearly was feeling yourself from the Georgia [win]. You went in there and you did something a Nick Saban team never did, which was take an opponent for granted. He didn't allow it. Times are different."

Smith may have unloaded on the Crimson Tide, but Bama is still far from out of the College Football Playoff race despite the surprising loss. Alabama will look to bounce back in the team's Week 7 matchup versus South Carolina.
