Nathaniel Hackett Safe? Jets Making No Changes To Offensive Staff

Despite the bombshell of a head coaching change, the New York Jets will not be making any further alterations to their coaching staff at this time.

Mere hours after it had been announced that the Jets and owner Woody Johnson had fired head coach Robert Saleh for a slow 2-3 start plenty of analysts questioned whether there would be further changes coming for their offensive staff - especially with play-caller Nathaniel Hackett.

As reported first by Dianna Russini of The Athletic , those changes aren't coming.

Hackett's job as the team's offensive play-caller is not being altered at this time and he remains as the team's offensive coordinator for the 2024 season.

New York currently owns the 27th-best offense in the game and one of the most inefficient groups overall - a surprise with Aaron Rodgers leading the charge.

Rodgers has also been pressured 34 times combined in the last two games - losses to the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings. That left some even wondering if offensive line coach Keith Carter would be the next one to leave the organization.

    Alas, no.

Johnson is looking for a change in messaging and leadership from the top.

And as of this moment, that means the offensive staff that one could argue directly led to Saleh's firing is safe for the time being.
