Ever since Davante Adams requested a trade away from the Las Vegas Raiders last week, trade rumors have been running rampant.

There are two teams that have stood out as leading contenders for the star wide receiver, and those two are the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints . Both teams feature a quarterback that Adams has played with during his NFL career and in the case of Derek Carr, dating back to his college days.

However, the Jets made a major move on Tuesday. After starting the year with a 2-3 record, and recently dropping a game in London to the Minnesota Vikings , New York decided to fire their head coach, Robert Saleh .

With the Jets being arguably the biggest candidate to land Adams, this obviously became a major story for the Raiders. However, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz , the firing is not expected to take New York out of the running for Adams.

As Schultz alludes to, as long as Aaron Rodgers remains the quarterback in New York, the interest between the Jets and Adams will likely remain mutual.

Rumors about Adams reuniting with Rodgers in New York have gone on throughout the offseason, and they've obviously picked up steam with Adams' recent trade request.

However, the question does now have to be asked: would Adams really be in a better situation in New York? Obviously, his old quarterback is there, which is huge. Aside from that, though, is New York really more of a stable situation than Las Vegas?

Adams is on his second head coach in Las Vegas, and the Raiders quarterback situation is one of the worst in the league. However, does he really want to go from that, to another team that just fired their head coach, and has a 40-year old quarterback who's struggled a bit in 2024?

The Raiders don't need to care about pleasing Adams, and they'll send him wherever they find the best return. However, it does seem interesting that Adams wants to leave Las Vegas for a situation that looks equally as rough.
