Jets Owner Issues Bold Prediction in Wake of Robert Saleh Firing

The New York Jets made the shocking decision to fire their head coach Robert Saleh after they suffered a 23-17 loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5.

With a 2-3 record through five games, the Jets decided that Saleh was not getting the job done, and they opted to part ways with him very early into the new season.

Saleh's job status had been viewed as shaky entering the season, and remained that way when New York struggled early in the season. Now that Saleh is gone, Jets owner Woody Johnson made it clear that he is immediately expecting the team to get their act together because of the amount of talent they have at their disposal.

Saleh was given a bit of leniency early on in his tenure with the Jets, as the team failed to develop Zach Wilson, while watching prized quarterback acquisition Aaron Rodgers tear his Achilles on just his fourth play in the 2023 campaign.

With Rodgers back healthy, though, the Jets couldn't afford to keep giving Saleh time to figure things out, and it resulted in him getting fired after New York's rocky five-game start to the season.

Jeff Ulbrich will be tasked with leading the way in the interim, and Johnson is making it clear as day that expectations for this team remain as high as ever, even with this big shakeup to their coaching staff.
