ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit recently went on Instagram live, giving fans an update on the health of longtime "College GameDay" member Lee Corso, who missed the Week 6 show due to feeling a "little bit under the weather."

The "College GameDay" crew was in Berkeley, California, for its Week 6 show, previewing a matchup between the Miami Hurricanes and California Golden Bears.

Week 6 featured one of the most hectic weekends in college football history, with four top 10 teams falling, inlcuding No. 1 Alabama to Vanderbilt and No. 4 Tennessee to Arkansas.

Following the lengthy Week 6 slate that ended in an "ACC after dark" win for the Hurricanes, Herbstreit shared his insight on some big-time finishes from the weekend.

He also took time to detail why Corso missed "College GameDay" earlier in the day.

Herbsteit mentioned that Corso was not feeling well during the week, which led to his absence. He explained that he called Corso after the show, and the 89-year-old was feeling better, which Herbstreit deemed as "great news."

“He was not feeling well," Herbstreit said. "He’s okay. He was sick during the week. I talked to him this morning after the show. I think he’s starting to feel better, which is great news."

Herbstreit spoke about Corso's availability for Week 7, when "College GameDay" will be in Eugene, Oregon, for a matchup between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Oregon Ducks.

He said he wouldn't be surprised if Corso missed another week since it would be a long trip to the West Coast from Florida, where Corso resides.

"I think he may consider with another long trip for GameDay all the way out West at Eugene," Herbstreit added. "Wouldn’t be surprised if he maybe takes one more week to recover and then depending on where we go that next week… You would think we’d be at Georgia-Texas, but of course, just depends on the results. I would think he would be back that week.”

Corso began his ESPN "College GameDay" journey in 1987. He's been one of the most well-known figures in the college football community since his arrival on "College GameDay," but the past few seasons have been a struggle for Corso.

He missed time last year due to a "health issue" and has now run into a similar problem in 2024.

Despite the uncertainty, Herbstreit mentioned that a Week 8 return would make the most sense for Corso since he expects "College GameDay" to be in Austin, Texas, for a matchup between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs.

I love Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreet, Reece Davis, Dwight Howard, and Chris Fowler. I'd save them from any natural disaster while leaving Pat McAfee to suffer alone. Lee Corso *needs* to retire this or next year so he can be remembered with grace and dignity
