Dwyane Wade Flexes Unique Date With Gabrielle Union

The stars were out in Salt Lake City Tuesday night, as the Utah Hockey Club played its first-ever NHL regular season game. Among those in attendance at the Delta Center to see Utah HC go up against Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks were power couple Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union.

In a post on Instagram Stories, Wade shared an image of him and Union watching the action on the ice wearing Utah Hockey Club jerseys.

“Took her on a hockey date!” wrote Wade, a three-time NBA champion who reached the pinnacle of his former league with the Miami Heat in 2006, 2012 and 2013.

It was more than just a date for Wade and Union, though.

Wade is a minority owner of the Utah Jazz and the Hockey Club, so his focus was also on how the newest team in the NHL would be received by home fans.

The Utah Hockey Club did not disappoint Wade and their supporters, as they cruised to a 5-2 victory.

Dylan Guenther etched his name in the franchise’s history by scoring the club’s first goal in the opening period which also gave his team the early lead. Clayton Keller added to the Hockey Club’s advantage with a goal around 14 minutes into the contest. Barrett Hayton and Lawson Crouse each scored a goal as well for Utah, while Guenther had another goal in the third period.

The Utah Hockey Club will next play their first road game, as they take on the New York Rangers at the UBS Arena on Thursday.
