At the height of his NFL career, Devin White was considered to be one of the best linebackers across the entire NFL.

Now, not even the Philadelphia Eagles - a team historically thin at linebacker - seems willing to put him on the field.

White was battling an ankle injury that keeping him away from the team as they traveled to Brazil for the team's season opener. But even after that, speculation had come out that has questioned the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer's standing with the team entirely.

And on Tuesday the Wagles finally cut the 26-year-old after having not played a down here.

We know the Eagles had tried to trade White over the last few weeks - especially before cutdown day, to try and find a better way to field their young and inexperienced linebacking room.

While his ankle injury certainly didn’t help, despite having an All-Pro resume, the former first-round pick out of LSU has struggled to maintain consistency on the field in the last few years and was even benched for the Bucs during their playoff run last season.

While his current one-year, $4 million deal with the Eagles certainly won't hurt the organization going forward this year, Philadelphia can't feel good about a potential wasted signing so early in the regular season to this point.
