Presenting our Tampa Bay Bucs at Saints Notebook, which brings you the latest on the Week 5 showdown between the NFC South rivals - and playoff contenders. What's up with Baker Mayfield and Alvin Kamara and all the NFL rumors, roster move news, key stats and injury updates as they happen!

OCT 9 NO CARR QB Derek Carr is expected to miss multiple games due to an oblique injury he suffered against the Chiefs on Monday …

And New Orleans might be turning to a rookie starter against the visiting Bucs.

NFL Network is reporting that New Orleans - which plays two games in the next nine days - is likely to miss both.

Next man up? Could be Spencer Rattler, the fifth-round rookie. … who would be making his debut in such a role.

OCT 8 HURRICANE MOVE The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in a precautionary measure regarding Hurricane Milton, are will be relocating operations as of Tuesday morning with a move to New Orleans for the the week.

The hurricane has been elevated to a Category 5 storm. On Monday it was released that the hurricane is expected to hit the Tampa Bay area. The National Hurricane Center stated that Milton's wind-speeds have exceeded 159 mph.

It is predicted that the hurricane will move eastward, which puts it in the direct path of the central part of Florida - meaning a rising potential of risk to life via threatening storms, storm damage and overall devastation in Florida,

The 3-2 Bucs play on Sunday at the 2-3 Saints.

OCT 3 100 TDS! Mike Evans hit the century mark.

His 100th TD (99 of them catches) has the Bucs up 17-14 midway through the second. Oh, by the way… That’s his second touchdown catch of the night.

OCT 1 BLOWOUT OR ... Something's gotta give in NFL Week 5 as the 3-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a habit of being involved in blowouts ... and the Atlanta Falcons spent the first month of the season involved in nail-biters.

The latest Bucs example? A lopsided 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium. The Falcons' latest? A comeback 26-24 win over the Saints delivered in the final seconds.

And now as we prep for kickoff for the Bucs and Falcons scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Thursday? The Buccaneers have two 17-point wins on the season and one 19-point loss ... and the 2-2 Falcons have an 18-10 loss to the Steelers, a 22-21 win over Philly, a 22-17 loss to the Chiefs and then the Saints result.

That's four Falcons games ... separated in total by 10 points. So, yeah. On Thursday, something's gotta give.

OCT 1 SIMPLY THE BEST? There is a case to be made that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the best team in the NFC after a dominating performance over the Philadelphia Eagles. The 33-16 victory moves the Bucs to 3-1 on the year and gives them sole possession of first place in the NFC South.

Let's take a look at the impressive nature of the Buccaneers wins over NFC opponents this year. First off, they destroyed the Washington Commanders 37-20 in their first game of the season, and the Commanders now sit at 3-1 after dominating the three opponents they've played since then.

Then they go on the road to beat the Detroit Lions, who were in the NFC Championship last season, and get revenge on the team that eliminated them from the playoffs. Throw away the trap game against the Denver Broncos where the team came out flat and uninspired, and they have rolled through the NFC thus far.

And most recently, they dominated the "contender" Eagles in every aspect of the game. Quarterback Baker Mayfield's connection with receiver Mike Evans is back, Chris Godwin is being highly productive in a contract year, and despite injuries on the defense line and in the secondary, the Buccaneers defense looks like a force.

The only unbeaten team in the NFC at the moment are the Minnesota Vikings and there are still question marks surrounding them. ... maybe more question marks than stick to a Bucs team that can taken another step toward proving the "best'' argument this weekend in an NFC South showdown against the Atlanta Falcons.
