Angel Reese's road to recovery is in full swing. On Wednesday, the Chicago Sky All-Star dropped a significant update on her current status after her WNBA rookie season ended prematurely.

Reese missed the final six games of the 2024 season due to a fractured left wrist that needed surgery. She underwent a procedure to address the issue on September 10 and had been wearing a hand brace ever since then.

Almost a month after the surgery, though, the Sky forward has progressed significantly. Now, according to Reese, she's finally off her hand brace .

"My hand brace is finally off," Reese announced on social media. She then went on to joke, "the hiding my brace with my bags era is OFFICIALLY OVER."

Reese was referring to the fact that she often hid her hand brace behind her bags or tried to lessen its exposure whenever she's taking photos to be uploaded on social media.

More than its social media benefit, though, it's certainly good news to see Angel Reese take the next step in her road to recovery.

For what it's worth, Reese is well on schedule when it comes to her injury timeline. Following her health setback, she took to TikTok to explain that she would be in a hard cast for four weeks. After that, she'll be in a soft cast for another two weeks before she can return to her normal routine.

"I'm going to be in a hard cast for four weeks and then I’m going to be in a soft case two weeks then [remove it], then I’m back. So, six weeks I’ll be back to doing my own thing, normal life," Reese shared.

That said, fans should expect to see Reese wearing a soft cast in the next couple of weeks. The good news is it looks like there's no issue in her recovery, so she's well in line to be able to do some basketball stuff again before October ends.

Reese averaged 13.6 points and a league-best 13.1 rebounds per game in the 2024 season. While she didn't win WNBA Rookie of the Year, she still had an unforgettable rookie campaign, which saw her record the longest double-double streak in league history with 15.

Sure enough, plenty of fans are excited to see Reese's comeback in 2025 as she looks to build off an incredible first year in the WNBA.
