ESPN Announces 'Monday Night Football' News After Chiefs-Saints

The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the New Orleans Saints on "Monday Night Football" in Week 5, ultimately advancing to 5-0 on the season after a 26-13 victory.

Following the Chiefs' win over the Saints, ESPN PR released an update on the viewership records from the game.

ESPN mentioned that the Chiefs-Saints game was the most-viewed matchup in over 50 games on "Monday Night Football," and the fourth most-viewed "Monday Night Football" matchup in over 130 games, dating back to 2015.

It was also the most-watched episode of the "Manningcast," hosted by Peyton and Eli Manning of 2024 NFL season, with 1.4 million viewers, and the "best audience" the show has seen in the last seven episodes, dating back to 2023.

The Chiefs were led by running back Kareem Hunt in the win over the Saints. Hunt, who recently came off the practice squad for the Chiefs, posted 102 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recorded 331 passing yards, completing 28-of-39 pass attempts.

Following the win, Kansas City entered its bye week. It'll prepare for a Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.

The Chiefs came into the year looking to accomplish a historic feat. After winning the Super Bowl in 2023 and 2024, Kansas City would become the first time to ever win three straight Super Bowl titles if it were to earn a ring this season.

KC currently stands as the No. 1 team in the AFC West. The Chiefs are the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl with the odds set at +450, per ESPN BET.
