Speculation is swirling about a potential major addition for the Philadelphia Eagles, with rumors suggesting the team could be eyeing a high-profile move to upgrade their pass rush ahead of the trade deadline.

As the Eagles look to bolster their defensive line, one star defender has emerged as a rumored target in trade discussions.

The proposed trade centers around Von Miller, the legendary pass rusher currently with the Buffalo Bills.

Miller, who signed a six-year, $120 million contract with Buffalo in 2022, has enjoyed a storied career that includes two Super Bowl victories, a Super Bowl MVP, and eight Pro Bowl selections.

The former second-overall pick from the 2011 NFL Draft is widely regarded as one of the premier defensive players in league history, having amassed over 110 sacks and seven All-Pro selections during his time with the Denver Broncos.

Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports suggested that the Eagles could be a logical trade partner for Miller, citing their defensive struggles this season.

"The Eagles probably shouldn't be in the business of adding aging defenders," Benjamin noted, "but they badly need a pass rush, and Miller, though suspended until Week 8, was a Pro Bowler under Vic Fangio in Denver."

Miller's tenure with the Bills has been hampered by injuries, including an ACL tear that limited his impact in 2023. While he has shown glimpses of returning to form in 2024 with three sacks, he is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, making him eligible to return in Week 8.

The Bills, dealing with a tight salary cap and Miller’s hefty contract, might consider moving the 35-year-old to free up financial flexibility. Although trading for an older player with recent injuries carries risks, the Eagles could view Miller's experience and leadership as valuable assets for a team with championship aspirations.

As the trade deadline approaches, the potential move for Miller could be a game-changer for a defense looking to solidify itself ahead of a postseason push.
