The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are preparing to face division opponent the New Orleans Saints as Hurricane Milton approaches Tampa Bay. The Bucs, coming off a tough 36-30 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons, now aim to turn things around in a divisional battle with major implications for the NFC South standings.

Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, former Buccaneers linebacker Devin White was unexpectedly cut by the Eagles on October 8. White signed a one-year, $4 million deal with Philadelphia in the offseason, hoping to prove he was still among the NFL’s elite after five years in Tampa Bay. Despite his ambitions, White was released without playing a single snap for the Eagles.

White’s NFL career began with promise after being selected fifth overall by the Buccaneers in the 2019 NFL Draft. He quickly earned All-Rookie honors, won a Super Bowl, and was named an All-Pro in 2020, followed by a Pro Bowl selection in 2021.

However, his performance dipped in 2023, seeing him log a career low 83 tackles (49 solo, 34 assisted), 2.5 sacks. His release by the Eagles marks a swift end to his bid for redemption in Philadelphia, leaving him searching for a new team early in the 2024 season.

As the Bucs prepare for their second straight divisional matchup, the Falcons will face the struggling Carolina Panthers. Both the Falcons and Buccaneers currently sit at 3-2, with Atlanta holding the tiebreaker for the NFC South lead. The Saints, on a three-game losing streak, sit at 2-3, adding extra urgency to Tampa Bay’s Week 6 showdown in New Orleans.
