Fans In Disbelief Over CBS Sports' NFL Quarterback Power Rankings

The NFL has seen some unusual quarterback play through the first five weeks of the season. It took a few weeks for any quarterback to surpass 300 passing yards, but as players begin to settle in, performances are starting to improve significantly.

On Wednesday, CBS Sports analyst Cody Benjamin released his quarterback power rankings ahead of Week 6, leaving fans in disbelief over many of the placements.

Leading the list were Lamar Jackson , Joe Burrow , and Brock Purdy in the top three spots, followed by Josh Allen at four and Baker Mayfield at five. Notably, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was ranked behind those five, despite leading the Chiefs to a 5-0 record.

    Here is the full list:

NFL fans certainly weighed in on some of the rankings throughout the top ten with Week 6 nearing.

"A 1 win qb and Purdy over Josh Allen?" A fan uttered .

"Lamar is not the best QB in the league." Another fan commented .

"If we are going off this year Mahomes shouldn’t be top 10. If it’s just ranking qbs then Mahomes is 1." One more fan said .

"Mahomes has a 1:1 TD:INT ratio. What are we doing here? And if you’re claiming 5-0 puts him top 6 automatically, why is one-win Joe Burrow at 2? Why isn’t Sam Darnold top 5? Makes no sense. CJ too low. Purdy should be 6-8." One last fan said .

Patrick Mahomes is widely regarded as the best quarterback in the league, especially considering his performance over the last few seasons. However, there was some speculation about his standing, particularly given his one touchdown to one interception ratio before " Monday Night Football. "

Creating a ranking like this isn’t easy and can be very “fluid,” as Stephen A. Smith would say. Nevertheless, CBS Sports certainly faced some backlash and mixed opinions from fans regarding their rankings.

Look at Lamar's stats with both passing and rushing. He's in the top 10 for both categories. This is despite having a bum ass defense. I could care less about the others on the list before Mahomes, but Lamar is the best player right now. He isn't the reigning MVP for no damn reason!
