Francisco Lindor broke Game 4 against the Philadelphia Phillies wide open with a grand slam, then earned a new nickname from the New York Mets.

After a relatively quiet series against the Phillies, the team's MVP candidate crushed a sixth-inning home run to open up a 4-1 lead against Philadelphia in a potential elimination game for the Phillies. The Mets had struggled against Philadelphia's pitching until that point, threatening several times but leaving the bases loaded in the first and third innings while scoring no runs.

The Mets loaded the bases for Lindor in the sixth inning, with veteran J.D. Martinez leading off with a single before Starling Marte reached on a hit by pitch and Tyrone Taylor walked.

Lindor then delivered. On a 2-1 count, he connected on a four-seam fastball and sent the ball 398 feet to center field. The home run sent a packed Citi Field into a frenzy, with Lindor celebrating with teammates in the dugout with the team's trademark "OMG" medallion.

Shortly after the blast, the Mets took to social media to introduce a new nickname for Francisco.

"SLAMCISCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the team wrote in a post on X .

The Mets lead the series two games to one, with a trip to the NLCS on the line with a win.
