Francisco Lindor and the New York Mets are still dancing in the 2024 MLB playoffs after pulling off an upset series win in the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets completed the job on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory at home, thanks in large part to Lindor, who came through once again for his team.

With the Phillies ahead by a run in the sixth inning, Lindor muscled out a grand slam home run that went 398 feet deep to give the Mets the lead. It proved to be all the Mets needed to win Game 4 – and the series – as they kept the Phillies scoreless the rest of the way.

As the man of the moment, many wanted to hear what Lindor had to say during the postgame press conference, but his adorable daughter, Amapola, also seemed to have something to share.

That moment just made the night even more memorable for Lindor, who finished Game 4 with a 2-for-1 hitting line. So far in the 2024 MLB postseason, the 30-year-old Lindor is batting .259/.382/.481 with a home run and six walks over 27 at-bats.

Lindor aside, the Mets’ pitching staff also deserved credit for their series-clinching victory.

Jose Quintana did not allow an earned run through five innings of action on the mound, while three New York relievers worked to keep Philadelphia at bay. Edwin Diaz ran into some trouble in the ninth inning as he issued a couple of free passes but got the save to close things out.
