The Georgia Bulldogs are aiming to get back to the No. 1 spot this college football season, but Kirby Smart is also attempting to land the top recruiting class for 2025. It looks like the Bulldogs are about to reload on defense with a pair of five-stars.

According to Rivals , Georgia currently sits at No. 5 in the 2025 recruiting rankings. The latest intel indicates the Bulldogs are about to climb even higher.

Georgia is already a heavy favorite to land five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry . Now, On3.com's Steve Wiltfong reported that the Bulldogs are also the "clear favorite" to sign fellow five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin.

"Terry is On3’s No. 2 ranked defensive lineman," Wiltfong detailed on Oct. 7. "The No. 1 prospect at the position, Elijah Griffin, takes his official to Athens this weekend.

"It’s his birthday this week and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him celebrate by becoming a Bulldog. Like Terry, Georgia is the clear team to beat for Griffin."

Griffin is the No. 1 ranked defensive lineman and No. 6 overall rated player in the 2025 class. The five-star's projected NIL value is $358,000, per On3.com.

The site predicts that Georgia will ultimately land Griffin, giving the Bulldogs a 95.5% chance to secure the star. The South Carolina Gamecocks are a distant second at just 1.4%, and the Miami Hurricanes have a less than 1% chance for Griffin.

On3.com's Chad Simmons reported Miami is attempting to make a late push for Griffin but has considerable ground to make up. Griffin could make an announcement as soon as his birthday on Oct. 12, the same weekend as his visit to Athens.

"Oct. 12 is his birthday. Elijah Griffin has mentioned a commitment on or around his birthday," Simmons detailed on Oct. 8. "The elite defensive linemen will be in Athens on his official visit on his birthday, so is that a good sign for the Bulldogs? It is hard to say what will happen this weekend.

"According to multiple people close to Griffin’s recruitment, they wouldn’t be surprised if he committed this weekend or decided to take it to Dec. 4," Simmons continued.

"Either way, Georgia is in the pole position. And they have been since they offered after he played a couple of games in the 8th grade. Miami is working hard here still."
