    The cavalry is coming.

Ok, that's probably a little dramatic, but the Green Bay Packers are getting some reinforcements back after a tough couple of weeks on the injury front.

The biggest story that emerged yesterday, was Romeo Doubs returning to practice after a suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.

Doubs, for now, appears to have everything in line to play on Sunday. It remains to be seen how his presence will play in the locker room.

    Christian Watson suffers ankle injury

    Dan Powers - USA Today

Christian Watson had a lot to say on that topic.

“There will probably be a few bumps in the road, trying to get that togetherness and that family feeling back,” Watson said . “But, at the end of the day, he’s back in the building and I know that his goal is also to win a football game this week. So, we all have the same team goal. I think we’re all pushing for that; it’ll bring us back together.”

He did have a lot of other things to say, but ultimately ended by stating that two days is not going to ruin what three years of hard work that Doubs has put in.

At the end of the day, as long as the Packers win, that should cure everything. This is still a situation worth monitoring.

Doubs and Watson are not the only players that look set to return this week.

Jaire Alexander and Jordan Morgan both practiced yesterday.

In fact, 52 of the 53 players on the roster were practicing, with the lone exception being defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.

That health comes at an opportune time.

The reality is, it's still early in the season, but it's not that early. The calendar has turned to October.

Forming an identity is key at this time of year, as is winning.

The Packers have not done enough of that early in the year.

Yes, they're 3-2, but they are 1-2 against NFC opponents.

They won't have as much of an opportunity to change that in the coming weeks, but have one on Sunday.

Arizona is 2-3 at the moment. A win, pulls them even with Green Bay and puts them behind the 8-ball in yet another tiebreaker scenario.

The Packers can ill afford that with losses already on their resume to Philadelphia and Minnesota.

Those are two teams that figure to be in the playoff chase at the end of the year.

This next stretch of games could define just how ready the Packers are to cement themselves as Super Bowl contenders.

Their three wins on the season are against teams that have won one game apiece.

All wins count the same, but are not created equally.

Arizona is up-and-down, but a good team to beat good teams as evidenced by last week's win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Next week, they welcome the Houston Texans to Lambeau Field for a showdown between two of the league's up-and-coming teams.

Jacksonville is not very good, but has talent. That'll be their last game in October, before a month of November that looks daunting at the moment.

    The schedule looks as followed

    Detroit at home

    Bye

    @ Chicago

San Francisco, then Miami on Thanksgiving Day.

Miami looks to be the lightest team on the schedule at the moment, but quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could be back for that game, making the task more daunting.

That's a tough stretch for any team to navigate.

That's why it is paramount for the Packers to take advantage of these next three games.

    2-1 gets them to 5-3.

    3-0 gets them to 6-2.

Either of those records puts them in a good spot going into November.

Anything less than that? Things can get dicey as the season progresses.
