Following an impressive outing in the Summer League, where he averaged 16.6 PPG and 5.2 RPG on 49% shooting, Kobe Brown hopes to continue elevating his game this upcoming season. His versatility allows him to play multiple positions, making him a tweener.

Speaking about his other strengths, the 24-year-old possesses impressive play-making, rebounding, and defensive skills. Brown's 6-foot-7 frame helps him dominate the interior game, be it getting to the rim or guarding multiple positions.

Putting in the work this Summer, Brown dropped to 245 pounds, having 6.8% body fat, given his aspiration to play the center position. The University of Missouri alumnus admits having experimented playing at all positions, barring the No. 5.

Can Brown be a backup center for the Clippers?

Standing at 6 feet 7 and having a wingspan of seven feet, Brown's physicality allows him to be a force in the paint. However, playing the center position may need to be more in reach, considering the likes of Ivica Zubac and Mo Bamba on the roster.

Nonetheless, Coach T-Lue could experiment with Brown at the center during one of the rotations. Currently, playing the small forward/guard position, the Alabama native has a lot of work to do on his game, given his wish to play the No. 5 position.

Brown's blocking and rim-protecting skills require considerable work. A case in point is his stat line reading 0.1 BPG in 44 games last season. Nonetheless, the Clippers player's ability to collect boards deserves its due, posting 9.0 RPG during the recent Summer League.

    A bright future ahead

Brown has a lot of potential to explore. I hope the Clippers rookie is awarded more playing time this upcoming season. The budding player has been impactful in the two preseason games, showcasing his versatility against the Nets.

In their first preseason win against the Nets, Brown played the second-most minutes on the roster and had five rebounds, assists, four steals, and one block.
