One of the most coveted nights for basketball is almost here. On Sunday, October 13, the 2024 Hall of Fame class will be formally enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will acknowledge the 13 inductees enshrined in Springfield, Massachusetts, this summer. The late Jerry West, Chauncy Billups, Michael Cooper, and Vince Carter are headlining this year's class.

    VC to highlight Sunday's ceremony

The Enshrinement Ceremony will be nationally televised in the Springfield Symphony Hall from 6 PM to 9 PM EST.

As one of the game's icons, Carter is synonymous with the modern highlight-reel era of sports. The retired guard played a whopping 22 NBA seasons with the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, and Atlanta Hawks.

Playing in three different decades, Vince evolved as quickly as the game did. His best years were with the Raptors and Nets, where his spring-loaded legs delivered a thrilling burst for basketball fans. The No. 5 in the 1998 NBA Draft, the high-flying Carter earned an All-Star appearance for eight straight seasons from 1998 to 2006.

Later in his career, VC was a dependable role player despite bouncing around the league. He played three productive seasons with the Grizzlies from 2014 to 2016, averaging 6.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists and helping the franchise earn consecutive postseason appearances, including a semifinal defeat at the hands of the eventual champion Golden State Warriors in 2015.

Nicknamed "Half-Man/Half-Amazing," Carter transcended the guard position and is etched in history for his electrifying dunks and incredible longevity.
