Rivalry games in college football really set the sport apart from the rest. There is The Game between the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes, the Iron Bowl with the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers, the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, and the annual Army-Navy game.

Rivalry games are usually played toward the end of the regular season. However, some regular-season examples exist, like the "Third Saturday in October" game between Alabama and the Tennessee Volunteers or the "Southwest Classic" between the Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas A&M Aggies.

On a recent episode of " Always College Football ," Greg McElroy discussed some of the best games in the Week 7 slate. The weekend boasts games like No. 2 Ohio State vs. the No. 3 Oregon Ducks, the No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels vs. the No. 13 LSU Tigers, and the Red River Rivalry with the No. 1 Texas Longhorns facing off against their hated rival, the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl.

McElroy said that the Red River Rivalry was a game that every college football fan should go to, calling it "the best" rivalry game in college football.

“This is a great, great scene," McElroy said. "If you have not been to this game. You love college football, remove your fandom for a moment. If you love college football, make this game a priority. I’ve been to nine of them. It's my favorite game in the sport as far as the setting, the scene, the 50-yard line split… It’s just the best.”

Texas leads the all-time series 63-51-5, but Oklahoma won last season's matchup in dramatic fashion. Former Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel threw a go-ahead touchdown pass with 15 seconds left to secure the 34-30 win. The Sooners have won five out of the last six meetings in the rivalry.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+.
