Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes hope to prove that they're the real deal when they welcome the visiting Kansas State Wildcats for a highly-anticipated matchup on Saturday night.

The Buffaloes are red hot to start the 2024 college football season, ripping off three straight wins following their Week 2 loss at Nebraska. No. 18 Kansas State is also 4-1 to start the year, including two wins over ranked opponents.

College football fans are looking forward to this matchup. Unfortunately, not all fans will be awake to watch Colorado and Kansas State take the field.

The Buffaloes and Wildcats are scheduled for kickoff at 8:15 p.m. local time in Boulder, meaning the game will kickoff at 10:15 p.m. on the East Coast.

Coach Prime is not happy with whoever made the call to put this matchup in the late-night window.

“Who does that to us? Who does that?” Sanders said during an appearance on his weekly coaches show. “I mean who has the power to sit up there and say, ‘Yeah I’m gonna make them play at 8:15?'”

Host Mark Johnson clarified that TV networks ultimately have the power over kickoff times.

Saturday night's game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

“But how stupid is that?” Sanders replied. "... It’s not smart for a television executive to say, ‘We’re gonna put this game on at this time.' I mean because you’re thinking about eyeballs, you’re thinking about selling merchandise on the commercials, you’re thinking about all that. Why would you do it at that time when half of America’s asleep?”
