Adam Schefter Provides Update On Davante Adams Trade Talks

    By Jake Brockhoff,

The last two weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind. WR Davante Adams requested a trade early last week , and ever since then, trade rumors have started to fly.

Things only got more complicated on Wednesday . During HC Antonio Pierce's press conference, he mentioned that he's spoken with his disgruntled receiver recently, and even stated that Adams is getting close to getting back on the field, and is ready to rejoin the team once healthy.

This is an interesting development, for obvious reasons. It's rare to have a player request a trade, and then have the head coach state a week later that they're ready to join the team again once healthy.

No matter how confusing things get, the Raiders have set their asking price . They want a second round pick, and if somebody meets that asking price, they'll send Adams away.

Unfortunately, during a segment on 'Get Up' on Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter gave an update on the situation, and he said he doesn't think that asking price will be met.

"I don't think they will," Schefter replied, when asked by another analyst, Dan Orlovsky, whether the Raiders will see a team meet that price.

"The Raiders have not gotten what they've wanted from anybody," Schefter continued. "They probably aren't going to get what they want from anybody, so they're going to have to come to a recognition that they're not getting a second-round draft pick."

Obviously, this isn't great news, but it's not surprising either. The Raiders' asking price was set shortly after Adams' trade request became public, and if a team had met it, he probably would have been traded already.

If anything, things just get more confusing now. With Pierce's words about Adams rejoining the team, plus the fact that no team seems willing to give the Raiders what they want for him, the situation is only getting cloudier.

now he wants to stay? why because you realize nobody is going to deal with your Diva mentality? or is it because Aaron isn't playing to expectations and Carr is hurt for a few weeks? or that nobody is going to give up a 2nd rd pick for you? fingers crossed your ass will be out of Vegas before the deadline.
