Bijan Robinson Makes Big Career Move Amid NFL Struggles

The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the NFL's biggest surprises five weeks into the 2024 season. They hold a 3-2 record, tied for the best in the NFC South. However, since Atlanta beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, they own the tiebreaker.

Still, with the success they have found, running back Bijan Robinson has been an afterthought. Selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the former Texas Longhorns standout showed flashes of his potential during his rookie season but hasn't quite lived up to the top-ten hype he received out of college.

To start this year, Robinson's production has taken a bit of a hit. With the addition of quarterback Kirk Cousins, the ball has been out of Robinson's hand more often than not.

Amid his struggles, Robinson, similar to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has made a surprising career move, appearing in season 4 of the Netflix original "Outer Banks."

Robinson's appearance in the show was short and sweet, making a cameo appearance in the second episode of the season as a character named Warrick. This is the first non-sports show that the running back has ever appeared in. This is also not the first time an athlete has appeared in the series. In a previous season, North Carolina Tar Heels star Armando Bacot had a cameo.

"Outer Banks" takes place in the Outer Banks on the coast of North Carolina, with some stops in Charleston, South Carolina, and foreign countries. The drama series follows a group of teens as they hunt for different hidden treasures.

Through five games, Robinson has recorded 67 carries for 285 yards and just one rushing touchdown, all of which rank in the bottom half of starting NFL running backs. So far, Robinson is off to a slower start to the season than he was last year. Through five contests in 2023, Robinson also tallied 67 carries, but for 364 yards and two receiving scores. He did not get into the end zone on the ground until eight games into his career.
