'College GameDay' Makes Subtle Lee Corso Announcement Ahead of Week 7

ESPN's " College GameDay " had plenty of enticing options for Week 7, but ultimately chose to visit one of the most vibrant campus environments in the country: Eugene, Oregon, for the highly anticipated primetime matchup between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 3 Oregon Ducks .

However, the status of Lee Corso remains uncertain. Each week, ESPN releases a press statement regarding "College GameDay," detailing the location and events occurring throughout the show.

Corso has been a prominent figure in these announcements through the first five weeks of the season, providing key breakdowns of his headgear picks and frequently being mentioned throughout the release.

Yet, for the second consecutive week, Corso's name is absent from ESPN's Press Release, raising concerns about whether he will be traveling to Eugene for this significant clash between two top-5 teams.

Corso missed Week 6 due to illness and was notably missing from the cast listings provided by ESPN PR all week. This pattern has repeated itself for Week 7.

Despite this uncertainty, the "College GameDay" crew will still feature host Rece Davis alongside Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit , Nick Saban , and Pat McAfee . The celebrity guest picker will be former Oregon alum and renowned actress Kaitlin Olson .

Through the first five weeks of the season, Corso has an impressive record of 5-0 on headgear picks, and is nearing his 420th in his career on the show. While fans are hopeful for his return in Eugene, it seems we may have to wait until Week 8 unless something changes.

The show will kick off at 6 a.m. on the Oregon campus, while still maintaining a 9 a.m. start time on the East Coast. This mirrors last week's experience when the crew traveled to Berkeley, California, marking their first visit to that location.
