Even though there’s a significant level of anxiety concerning the Memphis Grizzlies with regards to the health of their top two stars, Taylor Jenkins let it be known that Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. will be ready and available at the start of the regular season.

Per Michael Wallace of the Grind City Media, the Grizzlies head coach reiterated that both franchise stars are projected to be active in the team’s 2024-25 opener on Oct. 23 when they’ll hit the road to face the Utah Jazz.

    Sidelined stars

With around two weeks remaining before the official start of the new season, the Grizzlies once again didn't escape injury scares as they endured two blows to Morant and Jackson Jr.

JJJ sustained a hamstring tightness at the start of the team's training camp that imaging fortunately categorized a low-grade strain, giving Memphis a major sigh of relief. And Morant tweaked his left foot in the Grizzlies' preseason opener against the Dallas Mavericks in which they ruled out a mild ankle sprain.

    Everything is OK

Jenkins has been consistently noting that the Grizzlies are applying strict precautionary measures for both franchise stars to smoothly maintain their recovery process. As the likes of GG Jackson II (foot) and Vince Williams Jr. (tibia) are set to miss the early portion of the season, Memphis couldn't be more cautious about the health of Ja and Jaren.

For now, it's good to know that Jenkins is at least giving us positive words and assurance for the duo so we can only anticipate their on-court presence later this month.
