Will Jayden Daniels & Commanders Snap Lamar Jackson's Uncanny NFC Dominance?

Jayden Daniels may not want to be compared to Lamar Jackson. But the Washington Commanders' star rookie certainly would like to emulate one of the reigning NFL MVP's most impressive trends.

When Daniels and the Commanders visit the Baltimore Ravens Sunday they'll be trying to accomplish one of the most difficult feats in football: Be an NFC team that beats Lamar.

During his seven-year career. Jackson is an uncanny 21-1 vs. the NFC.

Conventional wisdom says that dominance is partially due to the fact that NFC teams don't play the Ravens regularly and, therefore, aren't prepared for his unique, athletic style. It also, of course, is because Jackson is just flat-out one of the best players in the league and the Ravens have been dominant in recent regular seasons.

Washington's defense faces Daniels on a daily basis, so it will be accustomed to an elusive quarterback who isn't afraid to run. But ...

Lamar is 2-0 against the Dallas Cowboys, including a dominant win last month in which the Ravens led 28-6 heading into the fourth quarter. He's also 2-0 against the San Francisco 49ers , Los Angeles Rams , Seattle Seahawks , Arizona Cardinals , Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers , 1-0 against the Atlanta Falcons , Washington Commanders , Philadelphia Eagles , Minnesota Vikings , New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers .

He also has a win over the New York Giants , which is the only team to beat him with the Ravens, 24-20 in 2022.

So dominant were Jackson and the Ravens over the NFC last season that they soundly beat the conference's championship game teams. Baltimore walloped both the Lions (38-6) and 49ers (33-19).

An upset win by Washington Sunday would not only earn Daniels more individual accolades, it would also save face for the Commanders' conference.
