The Chicago Bulls are a club deeply rooted in NBA history. They are home to arguably the greatest player in the history of the league, Michael Jordan. The Hall of Fame guard led the franchise to six NBA Championships, including two three-peats.

They spent time after Jordan's career in Chicago uncertain of what their future would entail. That would be until a Chicago native would burst onto the scene. The Bulls won the lottery and secured the right to draft Derrick Rose.

Very early in his career, Rose led the Bulls back into the playoffs multiple times and made history as the youngest player to win the Most Valuable Player award.

It didn't take long for the Chicago native to take the league by storm and re-establish the Bulls' culture, giving them a new franchise star. Unfortunately, he would suffer a handful of injuries early in his career, including multiple ACL tears.

Rose still carved out 15-year career, despite suffering plenty of injuries. He was a three-time All-Star, MVP winner and Rookie of the Year winner. The Memphis product was on pace to have a legendary career before injuries derailed him early on.

Still, the city of Chicago and the Bulls organization have plenty of love for Rose. According to K.C. Johnson , there's potential for the club to retire Rose's No. 1 jersey.

The jersey number isn't actively being worn, but the franchise can still raise a "Rose" jersey into the rafters. The team is having a Derrick Rose Night on Jan. 4, 2025, to honor his legendary career as he retired this past offseason.

Whether they decide to do so during their celebration in January or not, Rose will eventually have his jersey retired by the Bulls as he's a bona fide franchise legend.
