The eyes of the college football world will be on Eugene this weekend as the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes travel to take on the No. 3 Oregon Ducks. It’s one of the most anticipated games of the regular season, and ESPN’s flagship show ‘College GameDay’ is in town to cover it.

As is the case whenever the show hits the road in the fall, the status of legendary analyst Lee Corso comes into question. On Friday during an interview with local media, ‘GameDay’ host Rece Davis revealed that Corso is not expected to be in attendance this weekend as he continues to deal with an illness.

Corso was at the first five shows of the season but missed last week’s showdown between the California Golden Bears and Miami Hurricanes due to an illness.

Corso’s absence will be a big one, as he has been a prominent figure on GameDay, especially in Eugene. The Ducks have been featured on College GameDay a total of 30 times before this week, and Corso has put on the Oregon mascot head 21 of the 28 times he’s chosen a side. He has also gone on record as saying that the Duck is his favorite mascot in all of college football, and Eugene is his favorite campus to visit.

Corso is quite accurate when picking Oregon games, as well. In the 21 times that Corso has picked up the Ducks, he is 14-7. Additionally, Corso is 5-2 when picking against the Ducks as well.

The show will go on Saturday morning, but it will be missing a key member. ‘College GameDay’ will start at 9 a.m. ET, and 6 a.m. local time in Eugene. The game between Ducks and Buckeyes will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
