Angel Reese Issues Telling 3-Word Message to Haters

Angel Reese is taking some time off from competitive basketball during the offseason following a standout WNBA debut.

While she won't be joining so many playing peers over the next few months playing overseas or in the new Unrivaled three-on-three league, though, expect the Chicago Sky star's name to continue dominating headlines regardless.

Why? Not just because Reese immediately established herself as an immediate impact player during her rookie season, earning All-Star honors, putting together a historic streak of double-doubles and leading the league in offensive rebounding.

The 22-year-old's instant success in the WNBA also made her an even brighter and more ubiquitous lightning rod for criticism, an unfortunate dynamic that Reese—as she reminded social media followers on Friday—is taking straight to the bank.

Reese played a central role in the WNBA's burgeoning popularity this season. While longstanding and new detractors portray her as a foil to Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark first and foremost, anyone paying objective attention knows that Reese has carved her own path to crossover stardom.

She's been in the public eye more and more since the Sky's season ended in September, surprising Megan Thee Stallion onstage at Lollapalooza and taking in multiple NFL games while continuing to grow her podcast audience for "Unapologetically Angel."

Reese, obviously, isn't going anywhere anytime soon. And as her profile gets bigger and bigger, Reese is fully aware even the naysayers are contributing to her success.

The only mark she has left on her rookie year is a huge skid mark..She played like she had never played basketball before.
