The unfortunate news came out on Friday afternoon that ESPN's legendary college football analyst Lee Corso will miss yet another week of 'College GameDay,' making it the second straight week that he has been absent from the set.

While it sounds like Corso is recovering from being under the weather, at his old age of 89, fans are starting to grow concerned that they might have seen the last of Corso, who has carved out his role as the beloved grandfather of college football in the last decade.

With 'GameDay' setting up shop in Eugene for the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes against No. 3 Oregon Ducks, it will be sad to see Corso not on set interacting with his favorite mascot, The Duck. On Friday, ESPN's Rece Davis relayed a message from Corso, saying that the coach wanted to apologize to his "best friend, The Duck," for his absence.

As you would expect, college football fans were saddened to hear that Corso would not be on the show this weekend.

"That sucks," one fan wrote on X . "I imagine that long flight is becoming difficult for him."

"The Duck will miss him most of all," another one correctly pointed out .

"Get well soon Lee. You will be missed," Oregon fan Justin Hopkins added.

"Praying coach is feeling ok. We all know He would have picked," one fan said, with a Duck emoji at the end.

In Corso's 28 opportunities to pick the Ducks and put on the Oregon mascot head at the end of the show, he has done so 21 times. In 14 of those 21 times, he has been correct with his pick.

It would have been interesting to see which way he would have gone on Saturday between the Ducks and the Buckeyes, as he's shown a preference for both teams over the years. In this incredibly even matchup, it really could go either way.

No matter who he would have chosen, it's safe to say that the college football world is bummed to not see him on Saturday morning in Eugene.
